Horlicks WizKids - REGIONAL TOPPER

In the year 2000, Horlicks initiated the wizkids competition in every major city. It’s goal? To uncover talent and offer a grand stage for students from various schools to exhibit and sharpen their skills through a competitive medium.

Along with events like ‘The melodious band competition’ and ‘The style act’ which contributed greatly to the overall rank of the city international school wanowrie, there was a central event in which one of the school’s student particularly stood out.

The wizteam competition is a part of the wizkids competition whose goal is to find, as they describe “exceptionally awesome students who are all-rounders”. 50+ schools participated with 4 students each, representing the school.

One of the 4 students representing cis wanowrie was ‘Amit Sextus’ of class 11, a newly admitted yet devoted student of the school. Clearing the city level rounds such as ‘psychometric test’, personal interview etc, he moved on to the stage finals in which only 10 out of all the participants were short-listed after rigorous evaluation. The stage finals consisted of an introduction round followed by a talent round and judges Q and A round. Starting the introduction with a confident and cheerful “good morning pune” and ending with “see you at the South Asian finals” Amit skillfully excelled at all the rounds and acquired the title of Wizteam finalist Pune, one of only two finalists who will be representing Pune in the South Asian finals to be held at Bangalore in November.

This was an incredible achievement for both Amit as well as the school. This event also heavily contributed to the points earned by the school as the school received the silver trophy for ‘runner up champions’. This truly memorable experience for all participants and an important part of their overall development ended on a high note with City International School Wanowrie’s name up in the highest of ranks and respects.
